Model

The 4141 series uses dual-channel cross-correlation for phase-noise, amplitude-noise, baseband-noise and transient characterization of signal sources. It also provides spectrum monitoring, frequency/power measurement and DC supply/tuning outputs. Models B, E and F extend to 7 GHz, 26.5 GHz and 40 GHz respectively. Starting frequencies, offset ranges and conditions depend on the measurement mode.

Configuration and supply

  • Specifications apply only within the selected model’s actual frequency range. Standard phase noise, spectrum monitoring, frequency/power and narrowband transients start at 10 MHz. Wideband phase noise, wideband transients and amplitude noise have different lower limits, as listed.
  • Phase-noise sensitivity columns are offsets and rows are input frequencies, in dBc/Hz. A dash means no value was provided, not zero noise. Amplitude-noise sensitivity uses one cross-correlation, a 0 dBm/1 GHz carrier and a 1 Hz start.
  • The baseband <0 dBm value is a measurement power range, not a damage threshold or safe-input guarantee. Supply and tuning outputs have different voltage/current limits.
  • Dimensions are stated both excluding and including handles, feet, pads and side straps. The reference photograph is 4141F; RF connector, power and weight follow the selected model.
  • Warranty extensions are optional and exclude calibration. Confirm accessories and service terms in the quotation. Provide model/band, noise mode, carrier power, offsets, DC-output needs and services.
