The 6481 series splices standard fibres, drop cables and patch cords. The six-motor 6481A supports precision core, cladding and manual alignment; the four-motor 6481B supports cladding and manual alignment. Ceramic V-grooves, multifunction clamps, a 4.3-inch LCD and a graphical interface support fibre-network installation and maintenance.
Key features
- Supports splicing fibres with a 5 mm short cleave length.
- Ceramic V-grooves and multifunction clamps for standard fibres, drop cables and patch cords.
- Graphical interface and touchscreen; USB and SD interfaces, with software upgrades via USB drive.
- 300 splice modes and 100 heating modes; record capacity differs between A/B models.
- Supports bidirectional and automatic splicing and intelligent sleeve heating, with automatic heating after the sleeve is placed in the heater.
- Built-in removable lithium battery supports at least 220 splice-and-heat cycles per charge.
