Product overview
6422 is a modular optical time domain reflectometer for fibre-link testing and fault location. Select single- to four-wavelength OTDR modules by wavelength and fibre type, with single-mode, multimode and combined configurations for communications-network installation and maintenance. Mainframes and OTDR modules can be selected separately; one mainframe can be used with multiple modules.

Specification conditions
- Dynamic range: ambient temperature 23 °C±5 °C, maximum test pulse width, averaging time >180 s, SNR=1.
- Event dead zone is typical: range ≤1.6 km, pulse width 3 ns, fibre end-face return loss ≥40 dB.
- Attenuation dead zone is typical: range ≤1.6 km, pulse width 5 ns or shorter, fibre end-face return loss ≥50 dB.
- For multiwavelength modules, dynamic-range values follow wavelength order. Combined SM/MM modules list SM wavelengths before MM wavelengths.
