Request a quoteThe 3987 series measures noise figure and gain of amplifiers, up/downconverters and multistage receiver chains. Seven models cover 10 MHz to 8, 18, 26.5, 40, 50, 67 or 110 GHz. Features include an 11.6-inch touchscreen, loss compensation, an uncertainty calculator and limit testing. Frequency range and input connector depend on selected model.

Applications and supply
- M means male. ENR means excess noise ratio. Select the actual model range and connector rather than applying the series maximum to every model.
- Instrument noise figure is not the DUT noise-figure measurement range. Apply the stated frequency bands and ENR conditions.
- No input VSWR value for the 3987P is stated in this table. A dash does not mean zero reflection or error.
- Single- and double-sideband modes are supported. Extended system-downconversion measurements require a suitable external mixer and LO; they do not extend the native analyzer range by themselves.
- Fixed or tabulated compensation covers losses before and after the DUT. Automatic ENR loading and temperature correction require the appropriate smart noise source and interface.
- Steady-state supply-voltage tolerance is 10% of nominal and frequency tolerance is 5% of nominal. Nominal dimensions exclude handles, feet, rear frame, connectors and other protrusions.
- English package, case, rack kit and services are optional, not all included by default. Extended warranty excludes calibration. Confirm service coverage and shipping terms in the quotation.
Catalog supplied accessories are a standard three-core power cord, user manual and product conformity certificate. Provide DUT band, gain/noise-figure ranges, noise-source type, interface, report requirements and quantity to confirm model, options, calibration method and supplied items.
